This place is called the House of Pie, as you can tell by the letter Pi within the house. I love Houston.

Mmm... Animals!

There are approximately 7 animals represented in this Texas-sized barbecue plate. Woo hoo!

Tea for Two...

Our new Tea Tin!

A Texas-sized Bathroom Stall Is the Same Size as One Anywhere Else...

I have finally returned to Texas after 15 years. I'm so excited! I always thought things really would be bigger here, but alas, no such luck yet. Maybe things will be better tomorrow...

I'm Hanging Out With Old People at IHOP.

Going to church on Saturday nights frees us up for more important things on Sunday morning...IHOP.

It's graduation day! (I'm not graduating though...)

Check out this cool design my lamp puts on the ceiling!

This newly planted tree can't handle the snow!

It's totally snowing, which made my five minute walk to work a thirty minute walk! It also means coffee breaks every thirty minutes to go play!

10 December 2008

It's time to begin preparations for the GRE. Oh boy!

09 December 2008

It's the end of the semester and as such I'm knee deep in grading papers and tests. This is always such a stressful time, but the benefits much outweigh the negative aspects. I've learned so much since I've been able to grade for professors-especially some major dos and don'ts with respect to writing formally. After this week of grading, I'm shifting my focus to full attention to my thesis-more to come on that later...

O Christmas Tree!

07 December 2008

This lovely dinner of spinach and brown rice is my punishment for eating complete crap all weekend. Of course I mean punishment sarcastically as I like to eat these things, but normally I like to jazz them up!

06 December 2008

It's officially Christmas on Canal Street! If you get the chance, check out the fabulous jazz guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel.

05 December 2008

Here I am waiting to listen to Dr. Walter Brown present a paper, chai-nog latte in hand. The 60th annual ETS meeting in Providence was great. I'm looking forward to attending both the ETS and SBL meetings next year in New Orleans.

Jelly and Chinese Food

So, recently, I had the most New Orleans dish I have ever eaten while living here. Keep an open mind about this... I had Cajun Pecan Pie topped with Caramelized Lump Crab Meat. It was the most amazing dessert ever! Life is good.
